At St. Luke’s, we are committed to the health and wellbeing of our patients, visitors and employees. We take the flu seriously and are taking precautions to protect you.
The best protection against the flu is prevention. You can best protect yourself against the flu through the practice of good health and hygiene. These practices include:
- Maintain a healthy lifestyle
- Wash your hands frequently
- Avoid touching your nose, mouth and eyes
- Cover your coughs and sneezes
- Keep frequently touched common surfaces clean
- Do not share work tools and equipment, if possible
St. Luke’s patients and visitors are encouraged to get vaccinated against the flu. Seasonal flu shots will be offered to patients, based on physician recommendations.
The flu is easily spread. To protect our patients, please stay home if you have the flu and do not visit St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute. Visitors who exhibit flu-like symptoms may be asked to go home. Patients with flu symptoms will be quarantined and monitored.
Use these national, state and local resources to keep yourself up-to-date on the latest information about the flu and how to protect yourself.
