Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is an evidence-based rehabilitation process for chronic tendonopathies and post-op/post-injury scar tissue. Problems such as scarring, fibrosis and degeneration may develop as the result of trauma, surgery or repetitive strain. This form of treatment stimulates the body to regenerate soft tissues, decreases pain, and improves movement. IASTM is conducted in conjunction with a rehabilitation regiment designed to restore patients to their pre-injury level of activity. It is effective for new injuries as well as persistent, nagging conditions.
