At St. Luke's Rehabilitation Institute, we are committed to providing the highest quality of care for our patients. Certification in rehabilitation nursing by many of our nursing staff shows their commitment to excellence in caring for people with physical disabilities and chronic illnesses. It indicates that they are an experienced rehabilitation or restorative nurse who has achieved a level of knowledge in this practice area. A recent landmark study found that as the percentage of registered nurses certified in rehabilitation nursing (CRRN) increased, the length of stay decreased. Specifically, for every 6% increase in CRRNs on the unit, the average length of stay decreased by one day. Approximately 30 members of our nursing staff have achieved this certification.
