Rapid Response Teams

As a member of the 5 Million Lives national campaign to prevent avoidable hospital deaths, St. Luke's has implemented a Rapid Response Team (RRT). The RRT is a group of highly-trained nurses and respiratory therapists who help when there are signs that a patient in the hospital is developing serious medical problems.

The purpose of the RRT is to quickly check the condition of the patient and provide help before there is a medical emergency, such as a heart attack. St. Luke's Rapid Response Team has been very successful. Since implementation of the RRT, there has been a significant reduction in the number of patients who have required a full emergency response.
