St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute, the region’s largest inpatient and outpatient medical rehabilitation organization, expanded its therapy staffing services to rural communities throughout the eastern region of the state.
In recent months, St. Luke’s inpatient therapists began providing therapy services to patients at Odessa Memorial Healthcare Center in Odessa, Wash. and Whitman Hospital & Medical Center in Colfax, Wash. This is in addition to the St. Luke’s staffing services being provided to East Adams Rural Hospital in Ritzville, Wash. since 2012.
“Our therapists are familiar with the needs of each community we serve,” said Rhonda Stowe, St. Luke’s manager of rehabilitation services. “By using our contracted services, hospitals can provide continued excellence in care without sending patients miles away for treatment.”
St. Luke’s staffing services include therapists across the continuum of care like occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy. Skilled and experienced therapists are contracted out with assigned therapists in each facility, solving short- and long-term therapy staffing needs.
“We are excited to be providing additional therapy services to neighboring communities,” said Nancy Webster, St. Luke’s director of rehabilitation services. “With more than 250 therapy staff members providing inpatient and outpatient therapy in Spokane, St. Luke’s is helping bring expertise and quality care to residents throughout the region.”
“This is a great opportunity to keep our patients close to home,” said Deborah Glass, Whitman Hospital chief executive officer. “Therapists from St. Luke’s assist in fulfilling our therapy needs with a name and reputation we know and trust.”
St. Luke’s has been providing rehabilitation care for 20 years in a variety of care settings. For more information about the rehabilitation services provided by St. Luke’s visit www.st-lukes.org.
