Team St. Luke's Athletes Depart for the 2011 IPC Athletics World Championships

Team St. Luke’s, the adaptive sports team for youth and adults with physical disabilities, will be departing Spokane for Christchurch, New Zealand on Thursday, January 6, where they will be competing for Team USA of U.S. Paralympics, at the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletics World Championships, January 21-30, 2011.

Chelsea McClammer (16), Austin Pruitt (16) and Amberlynn Weber (17) will help comprise the Team USA roster of 54 athletes (34 males and 20 females).

Teresa Skinner, coach of Team St. Luke’s, was selected as the assistant wheelchair track coach for Team USA. Another addition to Team St. Luke’s is equipment technician Chris Taylor who will be joining the team for the first two weeks. The team will depart from Spokane International Airport Thursday, January 6 at 5:31 p.m.

Team St. Luke’s is a structured sports team for young and adult athletes with physical disabilities, which encourages people to reach for their dreams and achieve success. Team members have the opportunity to purse college sports scholarships, participate in sports camps and compete in elite regional and national competitions, while developing valuable-life skills. Team St. Luke’s is a program of Inland Northwest Health Services (INHS).
