Team St. Luke's to Attend Competitive Fully-Integrated Track & Field Meets

Spokane, WA – Team St. Luke’s, the adaptive sports teams for youth and adults with physical disabilities will be attending two upcoming United States Track & Field (USATF) competitive, fully-integrated events.

Hosted by Cheney Track Club, Team St. Luke’s will be attending the 2010 USATF Inland Northwest Association Championship held on June 5from 9:00 - 5:00 pm at Eastern Washington University’s track field. The following athletes will be competing: Austin Pruitt (Central Valley High School), Isaiah Rigo (Windsor Elementary), Mikila Salazar (Centennial Middle School), Bob Hunt (Spokane Falls Community College), Susannah Scaroni (Carroll College), Jordan Clyburn (Spokane Community College), Krystle Horton (Montana State University), Megan Scott (East Valley High School), Chance Wells (Kettle Falls Elementary), Kasey Andrews (Riverside High School), Amberlynn Weber (Central Valley High School), and Michael Hoyt (Shiloh Middle School).

The team will also be attending the 35th Annual Community Colleges of Spokane Bigfoot All-Comers Track and Field Meets held on June 8, 22 and 29 from 6:00 - 8:30 pm at Spokane Falls Community College. The competition is sponsored by Community Colleges of Spokane and sanctioned by the USATF Inland Northwest Association. Athletes competing in events will vary between the three days.

Full integrations are not so common amongst organizations in the United States. We are excited to be included in these rare opportunities,” said Teresa Skinner, Team St. Luke’s coordinator.

The USATF is the National Governing Body for track and field, long-distance running and race walking in the United States. USATF encompasses the world’s oldest organized sports and is the number one high school and junior high school participatory sport.
