Team St. Luke’s to Compete in National Junior Disability Championships

Spokane, WA – Seventeen athletes representing Team St. Luke’s will travel to St. Charles, Missouri to compete in the 2009 National Junior Disability Championships (NJDC). Approximately 250 qualifying athletes ages 7-21 from across North America will meet for this year’s adaptive sports competitions July 25 – August 2.
An annual event, the NJDC has grown since its inception in 1984 with athletes from across the United States competing in adaptive sports events including: track, field, swimming, archery, table tennis, 3-on-3 wheelchair basketball and weightlifting.
Team St. Luke’s athletes Susannah Scaroni, Bobby Hunt, Jordan Clyburn, Casey Zeigler, Austin Pruitt, Amberlynn Weber, Austan Pierce, Chelsea McClammer, Emily Owens, Isaiah Rigo, Kelsie Christensen, Mikila Salazar, Michelle Kazuba, Kim Sutton, Carmen Campbell, Kyle Bocook and Christine Nielson will depart from Spokane International Airport, Friday, July 24 at 6:20 am.
