SPOKANE, Wash.---Tomato Street, a locally-owned Spokane and Coeur d’Alene Italian restaurant, donated $20,000 to the restaurant therapy module within St. Luke’s Community project at St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute.

With the help of St. Luke’s therapists, patients in the restaurant therapy module will safely learn proper techniques to regain important life-skills like going-out to dinner and using a restaurant booth, table and chairs and utensils.

“The donation from Tomato Street will really make a difference in our community for generations to come,” said Kirsten Carlile, Inland Northwest Health Services Foundation Director. “Tomato Street is known for creating a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. We are appreciative of its contribution to St. Luke’s Community to create the same atmosphere for patients and their loved-ones.”

After construction is complete at St. Luke’s Community, the innovative therapy area will provide modules of real-life community settings including a grocery store, restaurant booth, bus stop, financial institution, movie rental and vehicles.
